The newly crowned Miss District of Columbia USA® 2013 is 25-year old, Jessica Frith, a 2009 graduate of the University of Southern California where she earned her degree of Business Administration in Corporate Finance and continued her education by obtaining her MBA in International Business from Regent's College of London. Jessica moved to Washington D.C. to pursue her career and further her studies as she currently is employed as an IT Consultant and VP of Business Development for a major IT Consulting Firm and hopes to pursue her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology.
Although this was Jessica's first step on the state USA pageant stage, she is no stranger to performing, as she is an accomplished vocalist and songwriter and was seen on Season 10 of American Idol where she placed near the Top 100. In her spare time, she loves to read classic novels, enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, and hosting large get-togethers for her family and friends and believes that Sundays are reserved for two things: faith and football!
As Miss District of Columbia USA 2013, Jessica plans on dedicating her time to programs that emphasize the importance of education, in addition to organizations that promote the fight against cancer as she currently volunteers for both Susan G. Komen, and Living Beyond Breast Cancer, with her inspiration being her two grandmothers who have both battled cancer.
By remaining strong in her faith and steadfast in her desire to make a difference, Jessica hopes to serve as an inspiration to young people throughout the District of Columbia and the United States that you must always believe in yourself and that if you have the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars, you can change the world.
Jessica states, "I cannot think of a greater place to represent at the Miss USA® pageant than the District of Columbia. We may be small in size, but we have the biggest hearts. What we do here, serves as an example for the rest of the world. It is truly an honor to represent the District and I will do my best to bring the National Miss USA crown back to the Nation's Capital."
Jessica will represent the District of Columbia in the Miss USA® pageant, live on NBC from Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas. |
